Nigerians Wan Make Govment Check Petrol Matter as Sellers Stand With NNPCL

Nigerians don dey call on di federal government to run new tests to check di quality of petrol wey dey sold for filling stations across di country. Dis call come after one viral video show say petrol from di Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) no go last long inside fuel tanks. But di Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) talk say NNPC petrol meet industry standard.

NNPC don dismiss di claims wey di viral video make, dem talk say di petrol wey dem dey sell no burn fast. NNPC spokesperson Olufemi Soneye talk say di company don respond to di video wey talk say NNPC petrol dey burn fast when dem use am for generator. Di video show say one litre of Dangote petrol from MRS filling station for Alapere, Lagos last for 30 minutes for generator, while NNPC petrol from Ojodu Berger only last 17 minutes. NNPC however clarify say di petrol wey dem get from Ojodu station na from Dangote refinery, but refinery officials later challenge dat claim.

NNPC reject di allegations, dem talk say di video misleading and based on unverified research. Dem further talk say plenty of di fuel wey dey Lagos na from Dangote Refinery, wey follow all di industry standards to make sure say di quality good.

Many Nigerians, especially for social media, don dey call for investigation into di claims from di video, some dey ask why NNPC still dey get petrol from Dangote refinery when di Port Harcourt refinery dey work. Dem also don urge di Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Council and NNPC to run dia own test to check di burn rate of NNPC petrol.

PETROAN, in support of NNPC, don strongly deny say NNPC fuel no meet standard, dem talk say independent lab tests show say NNPC petrol meet all di industry standards. Di tests cover important factors like flash point, density, viscosity, sulfur content, and water content, and all pass di regulatory requirements.

PETROAN encourage better competition for di industry, and dem advise people wey dey create content to be responsible when dem dey share information wey fit change di public view. Dem talk say dem get confidence in di quality of NNPC products, as NNPC follow all di strict industry regulations.
