Pastor Bakare Visit Tinubu After E Say Him No Go Call Am ‘My President’

Pastor Tunde Bakare don clear air say e no get any beef or quarrel with President Bola Tinubu, say all him focus na to see Nigeria work well.

Dis na di first time Bakare and Tinubu go dey meet face to face since Tinubu enter office as president. Both of dem bin contest for APC presidential ticket back in 2022, wey Tinubu finally win.

But just before Tinubu swearing-in for May 29, 2023, Bakare talk for public say him no go ever call Tinubu “my president” until “di mess clear.” E say:

“For any public lecture anywhere, before this mess is cleared off, I will address Asiwaju as a President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria but I will never call him my president.”

But after their private meeting on Wednesday, Bakare tell journalists say their talk na about how Nigeria go better.

According to am:

“No be just about reservations. Na about how di country go take move forward. My own personal vision na to see a Nigeria wey dey work in my lifetime. I don discuss those things with Mr President. Dem no be secret, but once you don talk with who dey in charge, you leave am make e decide wetin to do with wetin you talk.”

E say him happy say President receive am well and e still trust say God go help Nigeria.

Bakare also call for unity among Nigerians and say make people from North and South join hand to move Nigeria forward. E talk say:

“I wan see Nigerians dey support each other. I wan see beta cooperation between di best of di North and di best of di South. We don dance around some matter for too long — time don reach to take action so dat our people no go continue dey suffer poverty.”

Dis meeting happen after Bakare sharply criticize di 10th National Assembly during him Easter “State of the Nation” speech, where e accuse dem of being like “di 48th member” of Tinubu cabinet and say dem dey behave with “legislative rascality.”

Di Senate reply say Bakare “don cross line” with dat kind talk, through dia spokesperson Senator Yemi Adaramodu.
