2 Police Officers detained for alleged murder

Two Police Officers have been detained for allegedly killing 17-year-old Tina Ezekwe around Berger Iyana-oworo Bus stop, on the 3rd Mainland Bridge in Lagos.

ASP Theophilus Otobo and Inspector Oguntoba Olamigoke, who are attached to Bariga Police Station, are alleged to have fired gunships that killed Tina Ezekwe and injured one  Musa Yakubu on May 26, at about 10:45PM.

Tina Ezekwe was hit on her lap and rushed to hospital where doctors battled to save her life but she died on Thursday this week.

The spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, Bala Elkana, said ASP Otobo and Inspector Olamigoke would be charged for murder if an orderly room trial by the police find them guilty of wrongful killing.

He said the Commissioner of Police Lagos State Command, Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered an in depth investigation into the case.

CP Odumosu also sent words of encouragement and sympathy to family and friends of dead girl, adding that those responsible would face the full weight of the law.
