The Police Service Commission has approved the promotion of over twenty thousand, three hundred and fifty-six senior police officers to their next ranks.
They include nine Commissioner of Police who were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General, while nine Deputy Commissioners of Police were also promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police.
Three Chief Superintendents were promoted to Assistant Commissioners of Police; while one thousand five hundred and seventy-seven Deputy Superintendents were to Superintendents of Police.
Also, two thousand, two hundred and ninety-three Assistant Superintendents were moved to their next ranks as Deputy Superintendents of Police.
The promotion is one of the decisions that were adopted at the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Commission, which was held in Abuja on Wednesday this week, and presided over by the PSC Chairman, MUSILIU SMITH, a retired Inspector General of Police.
