3 Brothers detain for Facebook-linked kidnap and murder

Police in Abuja have arrested three brothers for allegedly kidnapping and killing a single mother of five children after befriending her on Facebook.

Detectives have also recovered the decomposing body of the victim from a septic tank at a compound within Wumba District, Lokogoma, Abuja, where she was dumped.

Force Public Relations Officer, FRANK MBAH, confirmed the arrest of JOHNSON EMMANUEL, GIDEON EMMANUEL and SUCCESS EMMANUEL.

MBAH said the suspects were arrested at their home town in Ideato Local Government Area of Imo State, having fled Abuja after killing JANET NNENNA OGBONNAYA on May 14, 2020.

The police spokesman said investigation of the matter began following a complaint by one CHINEDU OGBONNAYA that his mother had been abducted by kidnappers who had demanded five-million-naira ransom.

He said a Toyota Highlander Jeep belonging to the murdered woman has also been recovered at a mechanic workshop in Apo where it had been repainted and its documents fraudulently changed and transferred to one of the suspects, JOHNSON EMMANUEL.
