The Nigeria Police Force has announced that three police personnel will be at each of the polling centres during the governorship election in Edo State on Saturday.

That would give rise to seven thousand, eight hundred, and eighty-one police personnel across the two thousand, six hundred and twenty-seven polling centres in the state.

That would leave a balance of about twenty-three thousand, one hundred and nineteen police officer for other assignments, out of thirty-one thousand who are on election duty in Edo.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Research and Planning, ADELEYE OYEBADE, confirmed the planned deployment during a media briefing in Benin City.

DIG OYEBADE also announced that there would be restriction of movement in and out of Edo State from midnight on Friday to midnight on Saturday.

OYEBADE also said no one would be allowed to wear the colours of any political party to the polling units on Saturday or move around with security personnel.
