D’Tigers and D’Tigress to know opponents in Tokyo Olympics Games

The Nigeria male and female basketball teams D’Tigers and D’Tigress will learn of their opponents in the forthcoming Tokyo Olympics Games today, with the draw to take place inside the Patrick Baumann House of Basketball in Mies, Switzerland.

The 12 teams in both Male and Female categories to compete in the games and are divided into four spots based on FIBA Men and Women’s World Ranking. D’Tigers who are the only African Male team to have qualified will be in Pot 4 alongside Iran and Japan, while USA, Spain and Australia are in Pot 4.

D’Tigress, the only women African Country that has qualified for the Games are in Pot 4 alongside Korea and Puertoo Rico. Other qualified teams from the female are Australia, Spain, France, Belgium, Korea, China, USA, Canada, Puerto Rico, Serbia and Host Japan.

D’Tigers will be making their 3rd appearance at the Games after competing at 2012 and 2016 Games in London and Rio de Janeiro respectively finishing 10th and 11th in the two Games while D’Tigress will be making second appearance at the Games after finishing 11th in their debut appearance at the Athens Games in 2004.
