Alh. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli becomes Emir of Zazzau

Alhaji AHMED NUHU BAMALLI has been named as the new Emir of Zazzau Emirate in Kaduna State.

Alhaji BAMALLI, who becomes the 19th Emir of Zazzau, succeeds Alhaji SHEHU IDRIS who died on Sunday, September 20, 2020, after forty-five years on the throne.

He is also the first Emir to be appointed from the Mallawa Ruling House in one hundred years, following the death of his grandfather, Emir DAN SIDI, in 1920.

Governor NASIR EL-RUFAI approved the appointment of the new Emir after careful consideration of the history of the Zazzau Emirate.

Until his appointment, the former Nigerian Ambassador to Thailand, who is currently on accreditation to Myanmar, held the title of Magajin Garin Zazzau.

The appointment was confirmed in a statement by the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, JA’AFARU IBRAHIM SANI.
