Army declares 85 terrorists wanted

• SEN NDUME KICKS AGAINST AMNESTY FOR TERRORISTS

The Nigerian Military has declared wanted leaders of the two factions of the Boko Haram terrorist group operating in the northern part of Nigeria.

They are ABUBAKAR SHEKAU and MAMAN AL-BARNAWI, who were declared wanted together with eighty-four others.

The declaration by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General TUKUR BURATAI was announced by the Commandant of Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General FAROUK YAHAYA.

The Commandant while briefing of members of the Civilian Joint Task Force in Maiduguri, charged the group to help identify the location of terrorists as they move from place to another.

Borno State Governor, BABAGANA ZULUM, was also present at the event, and called on Boko Haram terrorists to surrender and embrace the peace process offered by the government.

However; the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army, Senator ALI NDUME, has disagreed with the Federal Government on the rehabilitation of terrorists.

Senator ALI NDUME said the rehabilitation and reintegration of repentant Boko Haram members is a misplacement of priority.

NDUME said the Federal Government cannot be resettling and pampering former terrorists while the country is still at war.
