Benue State Govt. kicks, as Military kill wanted Militia Leader

The killing of a militia leader in Benue State has caused disagreement between the Nigerian Military and the Benue State Government.

TERWASE AKWAZA, also known as GANA, was reportedly killed in Doma Local Government Area yesterday.

Brigadier General MAUDE ALI GADZAMA of the Four Special Forces Command, said GANA was killed in a shootout with soldiers.

However, Governor SAMUEL ORTOM alleged that the man was snatched by soldiers from a government convoy of repentant militants in Gboko.

The killing of the militia leader comes five years after he rejected a government amnesty, and three years after he was declared wanted by the police.
