Buhari agrees to brief HOR amid heightened pressure over worsening insecurity

The Northern Elders’ Forum has complained about the killing of rice farmers in Borno State by Boko Haram insurgents.

The NEF criticized the government of President MUHAMMADU BUHARI, saying that life has lost value under the current administration.

In a statement released by its spokesman, HAKEEM BABA-AHMED, the Forum challenged President BUHARI to protect the life and property of citizens just as he swore to do.

The Sultan of Sokoto, SA’AD ABUBAKAR, has also condemned the killing of rice farmers in Borno State.

The Sultan described the attack over the weekend as troubling and challenged the leadership of the country to rise up and take charge.

Similarly; the head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope FRANCIS, has joined in condemning the killing of rice farmers by Boko Haram terrorists in Borno State.

Pope FRANCIS assured of his prayers for Nigeria, as he prayed for God to comfort the families of the victims.

The Catholic Pontiff also prayed for God to convert the hearts of those who commit such crime, which gravely offend the name of God.

Meanwhile; President MUHAMMADU BUHARI has agreed to brief the House of Representatives on what his government is doing to tackle the problem of insecurity in the country.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, FEMI GBAJABIAMILA, confirmed to newsmen at the State House in Abuja after a meeting with him.

Speaker GBAJABIAMILA said the date for President BUHARI to brief the House would be announced to Nigerians later.
