CAF Confederations Cup: Enyimba through to quarter finals

It was all smiles and celebrations for the 200 fans allowed inside the Enyimba International stadium as Nigeria sole representative on the continent this season, Enyimba International defeated their South African counterparts Orlando Pirates to qualify for the quarter finals of this year CAF Confederations Cup.

Cyril Olisema’s goal in added time after good work from Super Eagles player Anayo Iwuala was enough for the People’s Elephant, who came into the game knowing victory is the only way for them to progress from Group A.

The victory ensures the Fatai Osho led boys topped Group A with 9 points same with Orlando Pirates but Enyimba edges it due to a better head to head, with both teams qualifying for the quarter-finals. ES Setif of Algeria and Al Ahly of Libya finished third and fourth respectively with 8 and 7 points.

Futhermore, Enyimba the 2018 semi-finalist will know their next opponent when the draw for the quarter-finals takes place on Friday. Below are teams to have qualify for the quarter-finals of the CAF Confederations Cup
