Court orders Kogi State to pay Fmr. Deputy Governor N180M

Former deputy governor of Kogi State, SIMON ACHUBA, has won his case against the state government at the National Industrial Court.

ACHUBA approached the NIC in Abuja to challenge the decision of the state government to withhold his allowances after he was impeached by the House of Assembly in October 2019.

In a judgment delivered Justice OYEBIOLA OYEWUNMI; the Court ordered the Kogi State Government to pay the sum of one hundred and eighty million naira to ACHUBA.

The money, which is to be paid within thirty days or will attract thirty percent interest if delays, is the outstanding security vote meant for ACHUBA from April 2018 to August 2019.

However; the Court refused to grant ACHUBA’s claims of three hundred and twenty-eight-million-naira unclaimed allowances while he was in government.
