Court remands Senator Ndume in Kuje Prison

The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the remand of Senator ALI NDUME in Kuje Prison in Abuja.

Justice OKON ABANG made the order after former Chairman of the Pension Reformed Task Team, ABDULRASHEED MAINA, jumped bail.

Senator NDUME had offered to stand as surety in the court bail granted to MAINA over his trial of alleged twenty-five-billion-naira fraud.

Justice ABANG ordered that Senator NDUME should not be released until he produces MAINA in court.

In the absence of MAINA, the Court ordered Senator NDUME to sell his property in Asokoro district in Abuja, which he used to secure the bail.

Senator NDUME is also required to present the evidence of payment of the money from the sale of the property to the Federation Account.

However; the lawyer to Senator NDUME, MARCEL ORU, said their client is not happy with the decision of the court, and has asked them to file an appeal.
