Covid-19 scare shutdown Government Houses in Gombe, Ebonyi, Abia

The Gombe State Government House in Damaturu has been shut down due to fear of Covid-19.
Governor INUWA YAHAYA also ordered all his cabinet members and public officials to go for Covid-19 testing.
This move comes after the death of the Director of Special Services, while the Political Officer of the Secretary to the State Government tested positive for the virus.

EBONYI STATE OFFICIALS TAKE COMPULSORY TEST…
In Ebonyi State; Governor DAVID UMAHI has ordered all his commissioners and advisers to take Covid-19 test in the next seven days.

Governor UMAHI also directed all government officials, especially those working in the Ministry of Finance and Budget to also present themselves for testing.

The Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, UCHENNA ORJI, confirmed the directive, as the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the state increased to seventy-five.

He said Governor UMAHI was disturbed about some State Executive Council who have become infected with the virus.
The Governor also directed that all government offices, including the new and old Government House complexes, should be fumigated.

ABIA EXCOS GO ON ISOLATION…
Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, on Monday, June 1, 2020, embarked on self-isolation and submitted his sample for testing for COVID19.

Governor Ikpeazu also directed the Deputy Governor and members of his cabinet to isolate themselves and take COVID19 tests.

The Commissioner for Information, John Okiyi Kalu, said the move followed the death of a member of the state executive council who was also part of the state COVID19 response committee.

Kalu had last week announced the death of Commissioner for Environment, Solomon Ogunji, at the Abia State University Teaching Hospital, Aba.

He said Ogunji passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2020, after a brief illness related to high blood pressure.
