Covid-19 Task Force warns about risk of new infection from mass protests

The Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 is concerned that the ongoing mass protests for and against the Nigeria Police could lead to a fresh outbreak of the new coronavirus pandemic.

This was the central message from the media briefing of the PTF in Abuja yesterday, as the Chairman BOSS MUSTAPHA, the Coordinator ALIYU SANI, and the Minister of Health, OSAGIE EHANIRE, explained the risk the protesters face.

Meanwhile; the PTF National Coordinator explained that the reopening of the National Orientation Camps of the National Youth Service Corps would be done in a way as to reduce the risk of Covid-19.

ALIYU SANI said the Corps members would be grouped in platoons to make it easy for isolation in the event of an outbreak of Covid-19, without having to close down the entire camp.

SANI also announced that Lagos and Abuja have reached the targeted one percent testing of their population for Covid-19.
