The Nigerian Medical Association has accused the Cross River State Government of suppressing testing for Covid-19.
The NMA also claimed that the Cross River State government failed to publish results of some confirmed cases.
For this reason; the members of the NMA have withdrawn their services from government hospitals in the state and embarked on an indefinite strike.
Confirming the development in an interview on a television programme, State Chairman of NMA, Doctor AGAM AYUK, claimed that patients with symptoms of Covid-19 were being turned down from hospitals, while many are dying at home without care.
However; the Commissioner for Health in Cross River State, Doctor BETTA EDU, disagreed with the claims by the association of medical doctors.
