Delta State gets new law to check violence

Delta State Governor, IFEANYI OKOWA, has signed a new law on the elimination of violence in public and private life.

Governor OKOWA said he signed the law passed by the State House of Assembly, as a mark of his commitment to strengthening the peace and security across Delta State.

The Governor said the law, which is intended to prohibit all forms of violence, will also help to ensure the protection of vulnerable groups, including women and girls.
