Edo State Election: PSC sends Officials to monitor Police

The Police Service Commission has sent a monitoring team to Edo State, ahead of the governorship election this Saturday, September 19, 2020.

The team of officials of the Police Service Commission are to monitor the conduct of the more than thirty-one thousand police personnel on election duty in Edo State.

The PSC Monitoring team is led by ROMMY MOM, who represents the Human Rights Organizations in the Commission, as well as the Commissioner of the Media, AUSTIN BRAIMOH.

The Head of Press and Public Relations of the PSC, IKECHUKWU ANI, confirmed the deployment in a statement.

ANI also said that some telephone numbers (07034072677, 08050517678; 08052265260) have been released so that members of the public can call the Commission to report any act of misconduct by policemen on election duty in Edo State.

He said all police officers on election duty in Edo State must operate within the law and rules of engagement, adding that those who fail to do so would face sanctions.
