The Minister of Sports and Youth Development, SUNDAY DARE, has paid a visit to the Inspector General of Police, MOHAMMED ADAMU, over the calls for action to check the excesses of F-SARS operatives.
SUNDAY DARE disclosed on his Twitter handle that they had discussions on the activities of F-SARS and the need to end the harassment and attack on young people by some bad officers.
The Minister said the strict enforcement of the ban of F-SARS patrols and checkpoints and other similar squads was the focus of their meeting.
He said IGP ADAMU gave strong assurances on reforming the police and punishing officers who abuse the law, as well as the protection of the youth.
In an earlier tweet; the Minister of Sports and Youth Development had criticized the manner in which operatives of the F-SARS go about their job.
DARE said that the F-SARS operatives were helping to destroy the reputation of Nigerian youths by treating them as criminals, even before they get the chance to defend themselves.
