An insurance expert says the widespread violence and destruction that greeted the EndSARS protests will help to encourage more people to take up insurance policies.
ADETOLA ADEGBAYI said insurance for businesses would be heavier because of the looting of several shopping outlets across Nigeria.
ADEGBAYI, who shared her views on a television programme monitored in Lagos, said insurance companies would be paying claims of up to ten billion naira due to the violence.
She said her projection is based on the one trillion naira estimated loss announced by the Lagos State Government.
However; ADETOLA ADEGBAYI said payment of insurance claims would depend on whether the properties insured have riot and looting cover.
ADETOLA ADEGBAYI stressed the need for people to begin to see insurance as money not saved, but which can be called up to deal with unforeseen event of loss.
