Popular entertainer, FOLARIN FALANA, also known as FALZ, has called on President MUHAMMADU BUHARI to set up a new Governing Council of the National Human Rights Commission.
FALZ made the demand in a letter he addressed to President BUHARI, which has also been circulated online, following a directive by the President for a panel to investigate allegations of rights violations against the police.
The actor, singer, and songwriter said by the law setting up the NHRC, it does not need any special panel to investigate complaints of rights violations.
He said failure to do as demanded, it would leave young Nigerians to believe that the refusal to re-constitute the NHRC Governing Council is deliberate and contrary to the promise to reform the police.
