Family of murdered singer demand N1B compensation from Police

The family of one DANIEL CHIBUIKE-IKEAGWUCHI who was allegedly killed by operatives of the police Anti-Kidnapping Unit in Rivers State has demanded one-billion-naira compensation.

DANIEL CHIBUIKE-IKEAGWUCHI, also known as SLEEK, was an upcoming entertainer until he was shot dead in controversial circumstances on September 20, 2020, at Elelenwo community in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area.

The demand for compensation was made in a fundamental human rights enforcement lawsuit against the Nigeria Police, the Inspector General of Police, the Rivers State Commissioner of Police.

When the matter was called in court before Justice, S.C AMADI, the lawyer to the family of late CHIBUIKE-IKEAGWUCHI informed the trial judge that all the defendants have been dully served but without any response from them.

The father of late SLEEK, DOMINIC IKEAGWUCHI-OYEKWU, said the one-billion-naira compensation will not bring back his son but would serve as a lesson to police officers who are quick to open fire on civilians.
