FEC approves 20-year $3.1B concession of Customs operations and N13.1b upgrade of airport towers

The Federal Executive Council has approved three point one billion US dollars for the upgrade of the operations of the Nigeria Customs Service.

The decision was announced by the Minister of Finance, ZAINAB AHMED after the Council meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

AHMED said the automation of customs’ operations is expected to produce one hundred and seventy-six billion dollars revenue over a period of twenty years.

The Finance Minister said the Council also approved an upgrade of safe towers at the airports in Lagos, Kano, Abuja and Port Harcourt from analog to digital at the cost of thirteen point one billion naira.
