The Federal Executive Council has approved the creation of a new anti-corruption agency.
The new organisation is to be known as ‘Proceeds of Crime Recovery and Management Agency’.
It will be responsible for the keeping of records of all assets recovered from treasury looters and fraudsters.
The Minister of Justice, ABUBAKAR MALAMI, made the announcement while briefing State House correspondents after the meeting of the Federal Executive Council on Wednesday, September 16, 2020.
MALAMI said the move would strengthen Nigeria’s position and encourage cooperation with other international organisations involved in the process of assets recovery from overseas countries.
