Festus Akingbaso rejects position of Dep Minority Leader of Ondo Assembly

The crisis in the Ondo State House of Assembly continues, as a member, FESTUS AKINGBASO, has rejected his appointment as Deputy Minority Leader.

AKINGBASO, who represents Idanre State Constituency, also rejected the impeachment of IROJU OGUNDEJI as Deputy Speaker.

In a letter to the Speaker of the House, AKINGBASO said he was presently out of the country, and that the Speaker was duly informed about his travel.

According to a soft copy of the letter dated November 25, 2020, AKINGBASO maintained that there was no time that the impeachment of the Deputy Speaker was discussed.

AKINGBASO said had contacted eight lawmakers who are opposed to the impeachment of the Deputy Governor, AGBOOLA AJAYI, and they told him that nothing of such happened.

He maintained that the office of the Deputy Minority Leader is the business of the members of the minority parties of the House of Assembly.
