FG denies Russian Covid-19 Vaccine, as PTF advises cautious of schools reopening

The Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 has asked state governments that plan to reopen schools to apply caution.

National Coordinator of the PTF, ALIYU SANI, said the closure of schools had proven to be one of the major ways of containing the spread of the Covid-19.

SANI said this was because young people of school age are the primary drivers of the spread of the new coronavirus.

Meanwhile; the Federal Government has denied reports that Russia offered Nigeria samples of a Covid-19 vaccine.

The denial was made by the Minister of State for Health, Senator OLORUNIMBE MAMORA, during a media briefing by the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19.

MAMORA said the vaccine being developed in Russia is still undergoing clinical trial and not ready for distribution.
