FG offers N5b Covid-19 Bailout to Aviation Operators

The Federal Government is offering five billion naira to support businesses in the aviation industry, including airlines that are battling with the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Minister of Aviation, HADI SIRIKA, announced that the sum of four billion is for airline operators, while the remaining one billion naira is for other business owners in the aviation sector.

SIRIKA made the announcement when he appeared before the Senate for a public hearing of a bill for the repeal and reenactment of the laws establishing agencies in the aviation sector.

These include the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, Accident Investigation Bureau, and the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology.

Others are the Nigerian Meteorological Agency and the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria.
