FG release over N22Billion to Covid-19 Task Force

The Federal Government has released over N22 billion to the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 Response, (PTF).

This was made known when members of the PTF appeared the House of Representatives on Monday, June 8, 2020 to.

The PTF members were invited by the lawmakers to explain how they spent monies meant for the Covid-19 operations.

The Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, CHIKWE IHEKWEAZU; and the National Coordinator of the PTF, SANI ALIYU, were present.

However; the Chairman, BOSS MUSTAPHA, and the Minister of Health, OSAGIE EHANIRE, were absent, but sent their Permanent Secretaries to represent them.

The Permanent Secretary in the Office of the SGF, OLUSEGUN ADEKUNLE, told the Joint Committee of the House that over twenty-two point billion naira had been released for the Covid-19 operations.
“The Federal Government has as at date released 22 billion, one hundred and sixty-three million, one hundred and thirty thousand, four hundred and eleven naira to the PTF Operations Account. One hundred and sixty-four million, nine hundred and twenty-nine thousand, four-seventy-five…and that has been utilized to cater for the management of the affairs of returnees…evacuees”, he said.
