FG rolls out incentives targeted at 1.7millions vulnerable Nigerians

The Federal Government has outlined plans to support up to one point seven million Nigerians who are most vulnerable to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

These include the protection of up to three thousand jobs in one hundred thousand vulnerable Medium and Small Scale Enterprises.

The targeted MSMEs are forty-five percent businesses owned by women, and five percent businesses for special needs.

The plan also includes the registration of two hundred and fifty thousand new businesses at a discounted rate of six thousand naira.

Some three hundred thousand transport workers and artisan would also be supported with a one-off grant.

Nigeria’s Vice President, YEMI OSINBAJO outlined the government plan in an address he presented on behalf of President MUHAMMADU BUHARI during a ministerial retreat in Abuja.

Professor OSINBAJO said thirty-three thousand Nigerians would benefit from the government package in each of the thirty-six states of the federation.
