FIFA slams 5-Year on CAF President

World football governing body, FIFA, has slammed a five-year ban on the President of the Confederation of African Football, AHMAD AHMAD.

FIFA’s decision also puts an end to AHMAD’s bid for a second term as the head of CAF, having held the position since March, 2017.

FIFA took the decision against the Madagascar-born football administrator after he was found to have abused his position.

AHMAD is also said to have breached his duty of loyalty, offered gifts and other benefits, and mismanaged funds.

The wrongdoings are related to the organisation and financing of a pilgrimage to Mecca and CAF’s dealings with a sports equipment company.

The Agence France Presse reports that AHMAD was also fined two hundred and twenty thousand dollars by FIFA for the wrongdoings.
