A fire disaster has destroyed several shops at the main market in Potiskum, Yobe State.
Governor MAI MALA-BUNI has sympathized with victims of the fire outbreak, which happened earlier today.
Governor MALA-BUNI said he received the news of the incident with sadness, and he directed the State Emergency Management Agency to provide support for the victims.
He also charged the State Ministry of Information, the Fire Service, and the State Emergency Management Agency to intensify campaigns against bush burning and other causes of fire outbreaks.
Similarly; the President of the Nigerian Senate, Senator AHMED LAWAN, has sympathized with the victims of the Potiskum market tragedy.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, OLA AWONIYI; Senator LAWAN prayed for the quick recovery of the injured persons.
He also called for public support for those whose shops were destroyed by the fire, and for the Yobe State Government to investigate the cause of the fire outbreak.
