Global Coalition offers to help West Africa defeat terrorism

Nigeria and other West African countries that are facing the problem terrorism will soon feel some relief.

This is because members of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS have offered to help tack terrorist groups in West Africa.

The Global Coalition intends to apply lessons learned from the fight against ISIS in Iraq and Syria to other locations.

The decision was reached at a virtual meeting called by the United States and Nigeria to discuss the threat of ISIS in West Africa.

The Nigerian delegation was led by Rear Admiral YAMINU E. MUSA, who is the Coordinator for the Counter Terrorism Centre in the Office of the National Security Adviser.

A statement by the US State Department noted that the Coordinator for Counterterrorism, Ambassador NATHAN A. SALES, participated in the meeting.

SALES, who is the new Special Envoy for the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, said the coalition is focused on defeating ISIS branches and affiliates around the world.
