Gov. Bello links #ENDSARS protests to 2023 Elections; Blames Covid-19 for violence, looting

Kogi State Governor, YAHAYA BELLO, has alleged that the EndSARS protest is tied to the 2023 general elections.

Governor BELLO alleged that some politicians sponsored the nationwide protests and are benefiting from it, although he did not mention names.

However; Governor BELLO agreed that the demands by the protesters are genuine but said the original agitation had been hijacked.

He made the claims on a television programme while answering questions related to the discovery and looting of Covid-19 food palliatives in warehouses across the country.

BELLO said from the beginning, not many state governors agreed with the manner in which the supply and distribution of CACOVID palliatives were being handled.

Governor YAHAYA BELLO also said the violent turn of the EndSARS protests, the destruction, and looting of property is a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Governor BELLO said Nigerians were misadvised, confused, and misdirected, adding that he had warned that there was no Covid-19 in the country, which is why he refused to put Kogi State under lockdown.
