Gov. Makinde, IGP demand capture of runaway suspected serial killer

Oyo State Governor, SEYI MAKINDE, has asked the security agencies to capture a suspected serial killer, SUNDAY SHODIPE, who escaped from police custody.

Governor MAKINDE gave the charge at a town hall meeting in Akinyele, where the suspect is alleged to have killed several people.

MAKINDE was represented by his Special Adviser on Security, FATAI OWOSENI, who said the runaway suspect is wanted for at least six ritual murders in Ibadan.

Similarly; the Inspector General of Police, MOHAMMED ADAMU, has sent help to Oyo State Command in the search for the runaway suspected serial killer.

The police reinforcement involves operatives of the Intelligence Response Team and the Special Tactical Squad of the Force Intelligence Bureau in Abuja.

C.P. ADAMU wants the team to uncover the circumstances that led to the escape of SUNDAY SHODIPE from police custody.

The directive of the IGP was confirmed in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, FRANK MBAH.

Meanwhile; some angry youths stormed the Police Command Headquarters in Ibadan on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, to protest the escape of the suspected serial killer.

The Police Public Relations Officer, OLUGBENGA FADEYI, told Lasgidi News Desk that the protesters were received by the Commissioner of Police, NWACHUKWU ENWONWU.

FADEYI also recounted that the suspected serial killer escaped from the custody of a Police Inspector who was assigned to the case.
