Gov. Sanwo-Olu apologises over violent turn of ENDSARS protest

The Governor of Lagos, BABAJIDE SANWO-OLU has again addressed Lagos residents, as efforts continue to put an end to the violent turn of the EndSARS protests.

Governor SANWO-OLU said he sincerely apologise to families of those who lost their lives across the state, saying that the state could have been better protected.

SANWO-OLU also said the state mourn with the police and other law enforcement agencies that have lost their members during the crisis.

Earlier on Thursday, October 22, 2020, the Governor granted an interview to a television station, during which he explained that the CCTV cameras at the Lekki Phase-One Toll Gate were not removed before soldiers opened fire on protesters on Tuesday night.

Governor SANWO-OLU said the CCTV recordings of the incident are available and would be used for the investigations, as well as for inspection by concerned groups.

Governor SANWO-OLU also said the Judicial Panel on Police Brutality is ready to begin work and called on the EndSARS protesters to send in their two representatives.
