Gov Sanwo-Olu calls for calm, as EndSARS protesters continue agitations in Lagos

The End-SARS protesters in Lagos State plan to continue their demonstrations today, Tuesday, October 13, 2020.

Lasgidi FM’s NAJITE ATIRENE reports that the protesters plan to gather at the Muri Okunola Park on Victoria Island, and the Government House at Alausa, Ikeja.

However; Governor BABAJIDE SANWO-OLU has appealed to the protesters to take a break from protesting today.

Governor SANWO-OLU said tempers are at the highest levels on all sides, and that efforts were being made to calm the situation.

SANWO-OLU said he had received the news of casualties at the Surulere protest, and sympathized with the families of those who have lost their loved ones.

The Governor said he met with the Commissioner of Police last night to discuss the release of protesters who were arrested by the police.

SANWO-OLU also said he would be meeting with President MUHAMMADU BUHARI later today to discuss other issues related to the EndSARS protests.

He maintained that every citizen has a right to protest peacefully, adding that no one will be violated for engaging in a peaceful protest.
