Gowon, Jonathan join President Buhari at 60th Anniversary Parade

Nigerian Security Forces, yesterday, put up a colourful parade at the Eagle Square in Abuja to celebrate Nigeria’s 60th Independence Day.

The Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Air Force, and the Nigerian Navy were joined by the Nigeria Police Force and other paramilitary organisations at the ceremony.

President MUHAMMADU BUHARI was also on the ground to inspect the Special Guard mounted in his honour.

He was joined by Vice President YEMI OSINBAJO and other top government officials and National Assembly members at the ceremony.

Former President GOODLUCK JONATHAN and former Military Head of State, General YAKUBU GOWON, were also present at the Eagle Square.

The Independence Day celebration in Abuja also features aerial display by the Nigerian Air Force, as well as cultural performances by various groups.
