INTERPOL detains fugitive Abdulrasheed Maina in Niger

The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the arrest of the former chairman of the Presidential Task Team on Pension Reform, ABDULRAHEED MAINA, in the Niger Republic.

Force Public Relations Officer, D.C.P FRANK MBAH, said MAINA was arrested in Niamey after he jumped bail in a case of alleged two-billion-naira fraud.

D.C.P MBAH said the Nigeria Police Force is already working out the extradition process for the suspect to enable him to return to the country to face trial.

Recall that Justice OKON ABANG of the Federal High Court in Abuja had issued a bench warrant for MAINA after he failed to show up for the continuation of his trial.

Justice ABANG had also remanded his bail guarantor, Senator ALI NDUME in prison for five days until he was released on bail last Friday.
