Kankara attack: Defence Hqrts confirms 333 missing schoolboys

Three hundred and thirty-three students of the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina State, are still missing, four days after terrorists attacked their school.

The spokesman of the Nigerian Defence Headquarters, Brigadier-General JOHN ENENCHE said the confirmed number of missing students is based on information received as of 7PM yesterday.

Brigadier-General ENENCHE who was speaking on a television programme monitored in Lagos last night, said efforts are being made for the safe release of the abducted students.

Brigadier-General ENENCHE also confirmed that one policeman was killed and another wounded in the attack on the Kankara school.

The Defence spokesman said troops responded to distress calls when the attack happened, but they could not do much, because the criminals used the students as human shields.
