Kankara attack: kidnappers demand ransom for abducted schoolboys

The latest information from Katsina State shows that abductors of students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina State, have made contact with their families.

The Director-General of the Media Office of the Katsina State Government, ABDUL LABARAN, told a private radio channel that the abductors are demanding ransoms for the students.

LABARAN said the abductors also warned the military to avoid patrolling the area where their hideout is located so as not to pressure them to harm the boys.

Meanwhile; Governor AMINU BELLO MASARI has visited President MUHAMMADU BUHARI at his country home in Daura to brief him on the kidnap of the secondary schoolboys.

Presidential spokesman, GARBA SHEHU, quoted Governor MASARI saying that they were making progress in efforts to free the kidnapped students.
