Lagos 3rd Mainland Bridge for 72-hrs closure

The Lagos Third Mainland Bridge will be completely closed to traffic for three days during the holiday season.

This will take effect from midnight of Boxing Day, which is on Saturday, December 26, and last through midnight of December 29, which is on Tuesday next week.

The planned closure is to allow the construction company handling the ongoing repair of the bridge to cast some of the expansion joints that have been fixed.

The plan was announced by the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, OLUKAYODE POPOOLA.

He also said a section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway will be shut down from December 28 to December 29.

This he said is due to a flyover construction around the Mountain of Fire and Miracle area of the road.
