The Lagos State House of Assembly has opened a public hearing on a bill seeking to check the activities of land-grabbers.
The public hearing is taking place at the House of Assembly complex at Alausa, Ikeja, with the Speaker, MUDASHIRU OBASA, in attendance.
In his welcome address; the Chairman of the House Ad-hoc Committee on Land Grabbers Activities, Honourable AGUNBIADE SANNI, recalled that the state had made a law that imposed a ten-year imprisonment for forceful takeover of lands.
The lawmaker for Ikorodu Constituency-One said that land is the gold mine of Lagos, and that whatever threatens it should be seen as a threaten to the entire state.
