The Lagos State Government has warned about the possibility of a new wave of Covid-19 and another lockdown in the state.
The Commissioner for Health, Professor AKIN ABAYOMI, issued the warning due to failure by residents to observe Covid-19 safety guidelines.
In a statement by the Director of Public Affairs of the Ministry, TUNBOSUN OGUNBANWO, Professor ABAYOMI said that the increase in new cases may lead to the reversal of the steps already taken by the state government to reopen the economy.
Professor ABAYOMI said that although Lagos State had reached its highest level of infections and is recording lower number of new cases, it does not mean that the fight against Covid-19 is over.
