The Lagos State Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has unveiled a Smart Meter Initiative to address the problem of electricity in the state.
Governor BABAJIDE OLUSOLA SANWO-OLU, who was present at the launch of the scheme, said increased access to electricity is a major goal of his administration.
Governor SANWO-OLU said electricity was very important in driving economic development of Lagos State, towards achieving the objective of making Lagos a 21st century economy.
The Minister of State for Power, GODDY JEDY-AGBA, who was also present at the event, explained that local design and production of affordable meters would help to transform the economy.
