LASG extends work-from-home, as schools resume nationwide

Public and private schools are reopening today, after the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

This comes after a two-week delay due to the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has challenged the management of all schools to take responsibility to reduce the risk of the spreading the coronavirus among children, as schools resume.

According to its guidelines for the reopening of schools, the NCDC said all schools must ensure that they have sufficient access to running water, soap and hand-washing facilities.

School management must also ensure that classrooms are properly ventilated, with a minimum of one-metre sitting arrangement.

Meanwhile; the Lagos State Government has extended the work-from-home order to all State Public Servants on Grade Levels Fourteen and below.

The extension by two weeks, from today to Monday, February 1, 2021, is meant to check the spread of the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Head of Service, HAKEEM MURI-OKUNOLA, who made the announcement in a statement, said the directive does not include staff on essential duty as well as first responders.

MURI-OKUNOLA advised Ministries, Departments and Agencies to maintain their weekly duty rosters for effective service delivery.

He also advised all public servants to stay safe and continue to observe all Covid-19 protocols and guidelines.
