Members of the House of Representatives have reacted differently to the failure by President MUHAMMADU BUHARI to respond to their summons.
Some members want the House to delay consideration of the 2021 Budget until an apology is received from the President, while others said the President had not done anything wrong.
When the House of Representatives resumed sitting yesterday, a member from Rivers State, SOLOMON BOB, requested an explanation from the Speaker, FEMI GBAJABIAMILA, why the President was not present.
However; GBAJABIAMILA said the House had not received any official communication from the President.
Recall that the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, ABUBAKAR MALAMI, had issued a statement on Wednesday, questioning the powers of the National Assembly under the Constitution to summon the President for a briefing on security matters.
