More revelations Lekki shooting, as protester files petition

• LSHA holds parallel hearing on EndSARS protest

The Lagos State House of Assembly has opened a parallel investigation into the EndSARS protests in the state.

The House of Assembly is conducting a three-day public hearing to determine the level damage suffered by victims and the amount of compensation for them.

The Deputy Speaker, WASIU ESHINLOKUN-SANNI, said they have already met with some EndSARS victims from Lagos Central Senatorial District.

Meanwhile; there have been more revelations in the shooting of EndSARS protesters in Lekki, as the Lagos State Judicial Panel investigating the incident receives more petitions.

In a petition that has just been submitted to the Panel, one DABIRA AYUKU, alleges that soldiers and policemen opened fire on the protesters and some fell on the ground.

AYUKU claims that present at the Lekki Tollgate at the time of the shooting on the night of Tuesday, October 20, 2020.

The petitioner alleged that soldiers sent to the Tollgate were asking people to run, while they shot at them, adding that one of the soldiers kept dancing as he was shooting.

AYUKU’s petition has not been heard by the Judicial Panel and the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police are yet to respond to her claims.

However; the Nigerian Army had previously said that soldiers who went to the Tollgate fired blanks and no one was killed.
