NCDC receives COVID-19 prevention strategy by Interstate transport operators

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, is reviewing a new strategy for the operation of interstate transport companies in compliance with the Covid-19 guidelines.

NCDC Director General, CHIKWE IHEKWEAZU, confirmed the development while speaking on a television programme monitored in Lagos.

IHEKWEAZU commended the transporters for the move, stressing that it was necessary for every organization to draw up strategies in order to reopen the economy.

The NCDC DG also explained that not all Covid-19 patients in isolation centre are physically ill.

NCDC Director General, CHIKWE IHEKWEAZU, said some of the patients are only kept in the facilities in order for them not to spread the new coronavirus.

IHEKWEAZU made the clarification due to public concerns about trending videos of some Covid-19 patients in isolation who do not appear physically unwell.
