Ondo Court Jails Pastor for life for Kidnapping

Pastor SAMUEL BABATUNDE of Sotitobire Praising Chapel in Ondo State will spend the rest of his life in prison for the disappearance of a one-year-old boy at his church.

The missing boy identified as GOLD KOLAWOLE was said to have been abducted from the church at Oshinle Quarters in Akure, in November 2019 and he has not been found nearly a year after.

Pastor BABATUNDE, who is also known as ALFA BABATUNDE, was arrested for the crime, alongside seven other members of his church.

They were first arraigned before a magistrates’ court on six counts before the case moved to the Ondo State High Court.

In his judgement on the matter, Justice OLUSEGUN ODUSOLA found all the accused persons guilty of two counts of kidnapping, as well as aiding and abetting kidnapping.

Justice ODUSOLA reached the decision based on circumstantial evidence as presented by the prosecution.
